Modern Living in
a Spanish Eclectic

This was a typical project these days - a living area made of many small rooms with hardly a view of the backyard, much less a direct connection via a door. In order to tear out all the walls and also add a master suite on top we had to install a steel moment frame and a steel beam in the main living area. It delighted the client to finish them with gunblue and beeswax and leave them prominently exposed. The new master suite gets sunlight from all four sides and features a vaulted ceiling with exposed ridgebeam and rafters. The client exercised a lot of restraint in the paint colors & finishes yielding a clean simple space.
